Day 8 (& 7)

Friday 31st May

Sorry if you were expecting to read about yesterday’s ride. The WiFi at the hotel was unusable, I reckon we could offer them some consultancy to sort it out if we had the time (us both being networking techno types), but we are slow riders we didn’t have the time to hang around. 😊

Yesterday’s ride as predicted in our last blog was a grey cloudy day with no sunshine all day. However it was a nice ride again with rolling hills rather than steep ascents that you just keep trundling along on. Every now and then you get a fabulous view of the cost line or a bay full of long sandy beach and boats. We didn’t take a lot photos because of the poor light.

The hotel was very nice and a spacious room for a change, the hotels all the way have been fine but some a little tight for 2 guys and all the cycling kit they have (minus the bikes we haven’t had to share the room with them yet).

But we didn’t eat there and was pointed to a lovely little Creperie a short walk away. Then we watched the end of the Europa Cup Final!!!!!! To tired to do much else.

Today was a different day, woke up to Sun shine and clear skies and although it changed throughout the day it has been mostly sunny and quite warm.

The coast line has again become quite steep, especially if you let yourself go down to an inlet, it’s almost always as steep to get out of as dropping down into it. We see staying in Breast tonight and the the last few miles before hitting the port area was down and the up several times.

We are having a bit of rest day tomorrow which will be described tomorrow night (no sneak previews). So we came past the port and then a 90 m (300 feet) climb up to the hotel (every town in France seems to be on hill).

The shower in the room is about the smallest I have been in

Beers and pizza for dinner (hence the language in this blog tonight)!!!! 🤪

Muscles and joints tight and sore tonight.

Back again tomorrow

Regards to all Chris

Any typos and errors are due to the beers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
