Day 3 cycling update

Cycling was good today covering around 60kms with one climb at 8% gradient for around 120 meters - hardly Mount Ventoux but with the bags on the bikes it created a nice challenge! Lunch was a sandwich stop in a sheltered place we found in a small village. In the afternoon the weather deteriorated a bit and it started to rain so after a coffee stop we adjusted the route and cycled the main roads directly to the hotel.

Day 12 - the last one

Tuesday 4th June Woke up to rain, rain and more rain! The heaviest we have had. A quick chat with the hotel reception allowed us to stay until 12:00 if we wanted to. So, a slow breakfast while we watched it sheeting down and it stayed that way until 10:45 and it cleared a bit. So off we went for our final ride, only for it to rain on us after 15 minutes.   It didn’t last for too long which was good as the legs were not push he pedals over too well (at least mine weren’t). We didn’t have far to go go today. About 21 to 25 km depending on the route we took. So as soon as we could we turned off his main road and left the car and wagon traffic to itself and stayed on country roads as much as possible, as we have for most of the trip so far.   We rode into the centre of Quimper for lunch and ended up eating a quiche under a shop awning as it started to rain again.
